Children's Sabboth
On Sunday, October 24th, North Christian Church joined with thousands of other congregations, mosques and temples across the nation in the annual multi-faith National Observance of Children’s Sabbath. Sponsored by the Children's Defense Fund, this is a way for faith communities to celebrate children as sacred gifts of the Divine, and provides the opportunity for houses of worship to renew and live out their moral responsibility to care, protect and advocate for all children The Children’s Sabbath, “Blessed to Be a Blessing, Lifting Up the Next Generation,” will focus on the more than 14 million children in our nation who live in poverty and what can be done to end child poverty so that every child has the opportunity to fulfill their God-given potential.
