SENIOR MINISTER
Rev. Dr. Lanny C. Lawler
Lanny was born in Abilene Texas in 1952, and is a Timothy of First Christian Church, having been baptized there on Palm Sunday, March 26, 1961.
He is a graduate of the Abilene, Texas public schools, of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas and Yale University Divinity School. His Doctor of Ministry degree is from Vanderbilt University Divinity School
An ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Dr. Lawler has served congregations in Texas, Connecticut, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. Active in various ecumenical agencies in the communities where he has served, he has served in various capacities on the regional and general levels of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as well. In 1999 he was elected to a two year term as First Vice-Moderator of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada.
Dr. Lawler assumed the position of Senior Minister of North Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Columbus September 7, 2004.
He is married to Joy, an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church, and they are parents of a son, Patrick. Gabriel, a Siamese cat, grants them the privilege of living with him.
