MORNING NEWS CLASS meets every Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in UL 6. This class discusses current events.

 

WINTER ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

On January 8, 2012, the Adult Education Class will begin a study of the new book by Philip Gulley: THE EVOLUTION OF FAITH: HOW GOD IS CREATING A BETTER CHRISTIANITY. In the forward of the book, Gulley invites readers “to consider their faith in a fresh way, informed by common sense, positive tradition, and personal experience—to create a Christianity that brings out the best in people, that is at home with people of other faiths, and that is grateful for scientific knowledge.” A sign-up sheet will be in the Narthex later this week; participants are being asked to pay the cost of the book. If the total cost is prohibitive, Christian Education will pick up a portion of the fee. During the first session on the 8th, we will begin with a follow-up question from our study of Luke, reflect on the Advent/Christmas seasons, and begin with the forward of the book. TEEN (TWEEN) SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

The Teen (Tween) Class meets each Sunday morning at 9:00 am in LL1. This fall, we are studying the Book of Proverbs. The study includes stories, themes, events and people from Proverbs. The subjects of advice and wisdom and how they touch our lives are highlighted. Sandy Wilson teaches the class with back up from Brian Shaw and the Rev. Lanny Lawler.

 

YOUTH GROUP MEETS SUNDAY EVENINGS

We had our first youth meeting and it was awesome!! We had a lot of fun, with food, worship, a zany wiffle ball game, and group time. There were six kids in attendance, three each for senior high and middle school, and they all enjoyed themselves. On Friday, September 23, we had a Lock-in. The Lock-in was officially a planning event to generate some ideas from the kids on what they would like to do. There was actually very little planning and a whole lot of fun. We did tie-dye, music, skits, and some outdoor games in the dark. We enjoyed pizza and a movie. We are now meeting every Sunday evening at 6:00 pm. Come join in on the fun!
