Yesterday was a momentous day for North Christian Church and our faith partners! Representatives of Sha'arei Shalom - Reform Jewish Congregation of Columbus, Indiana, Islamic Society of Columbus Indiana (ISCI), HSSI Columbus, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus, Indiana, and North Christian Church signed incorporation papers to create a new entity for interfaith work. Rev. Nic Cable will serve as Executive Director as this next chapter of the journey unfolds. We are excited and proud to be a part of the interfaith work happening in Columbus and look forward to the ways we will work together, live together, and serve the community together. Stay tuned!
In the story of Joseph (Genesis 45:3-11, 15), Joseph forgives his brothers for the heinous ways they have treated him. Over the years, Christians have weaponized this story to keep victims of abuse silent about their experiences. How can we justify Joseph’s forgiveness of his brothers and simultaneously encourage our loved ones to be honest about their stories of pain? The perspective and interpretation of the victim make all the difference in the world.
Based on Luke 6:27-38 and Genesis 45:3-11, 15.
